Thus, I can check at an early stage whether I can comply with the requirements and we do not have to enter into discussions because my work does not quite meet your expectations.

Communication is of course always bidirectional. I will of course get in touch with you whenever I have any questions. In most cases, I will do so by e-mail, which also helps documenting what we agreed upon. Sometimes though, it is much quicker and less equivocal to resolve questions by telephone.
